Robert Adams must go on a vision quest as part of his journey into the "western mountains."
While I don't mention all of the actual place names, the book is set in Glacier National Park, Montana. There you will find Chief Mountain alongside the road to Canada in the eastern section of the park. Chief Mountain, with the flat top, has for many years been a mountain of visions. So, too, for Robert Adams in The Sun Singer.
