Sounds in the Books

I'm very attuned to sound as I visit a place. In the picture here, the primary sound is that of the Bow River going over the falls. Later, one notices the sounds of children in the background, occasional birds, people clunking up and down the steps of the overlook.

Mentioning these in the scene of a novel helps make the setting come alive for the reader.
